Cute as a button & connected quickly in WIFI hot spots-never expected speed so was not unhappy with that; keyboard & screen big enough for travel use. BUT abt 30 days after purchase I had the snap, drop dead phenomenon. This happened mid trip to France & we were out of luck for the function it should have performed. Had my computer guru look at it when we got home; his verdict: not really fixable. The vendor (not Amazon related) gave us no joy. Bottom line: don't waste your money.

I bought one of these, got it in the mail yesterday, and didn't expect much for the low price that I paid, but at least I had hoped it would power up and last longer than 3 hours. I got it turned on, got it to connect to my home network for about 20 minutes, got disconnect and could not get it to reconnect to my home networking system even after sitting right in front of the router. The touch pad caused the cursor to erratically jump all over the display so had to connect a mouse to one of the USB ports. About 3 hours into trying everything to connect to my network I heard a faint "pop", the display went blank, I could smell that electrical overheating odor, and the back of the display lid began to feel warm. I depowered it and emailed the seller. Even though I paid for an additional 1 year warranty I now find out that the warranty is with a 3rd party, not with the company that I purchased it from. If I return it for a refund (at this time I have not received a return authorization) I will be charged a 25% "restocking fee" plus pay the return postage. I'll just have to take my losses but at least have learned a lesson... buy a name brand from a reputable company. You get what you pay for.

I received this as a gift, but a gift it is not. Web browsing on this device is terribly slow and irritating. Many sites take so long to load that you can do other things while waiting. Other sites won't load at all because they are not compatible with Windows CE. I tried to play both Netflix and Hulu videos on this thing but the Silverlight plugin for Netflix and the latest version of Adobe Flash for Hulu are not Windows CE compatible. You will be hard pressed to find any programs that are Windows CE compatible. I have had this netbook for almost a year now, and I've really only used it as an mp3 player. I may use it for classroom note taking when I attend grad school, but with the extremely short battery life (2hrs max), I doubt it would be good for even that.The only problem that I haven't experienced that many other reviewers had was an inability to connect to a wi-fi connection. I have not had any trouble getting it to connect to my home network. I would maybe recommend this as a fist laptop for a child, but children today are so technology savvy that they too would be disappointed with this product.I strongly discourage anyone from purchasing this product. It is not worth the headache. I would recommend spending the extra couple 100 bucks to get a quality netbook.
