This review is for: Acer Chromebook AC700-N1099
Although I don't have this particular PC, I was a part of Google's Chromebook/Chrome-OS pilot program, thus I owned a CR-48 netbook prototype which ran Chrome-OS. During my test run with the Chromebook, I noticed a lot of severe flaws in the design of the software. Files were hard to manage. Forget about using it as a multimedia center. Because all your "apps" are on the "cloud", you're unfortunately tied to the internet in everything you do. Chrome OS is basically Linux that's running a full screen browser as its one and only foreground application. It does not make sense. Moreover, Chrome OS uses Google to create your computer's user account. If you don't want to create an account on Google, then guess what, you can't use the computer ( unless you use guest mode, which does not save any of your preferences or settings).I guarantee that you can find a better computer that is exponentially faster and more feature-filled than this netbook. Do *not* spend more than $300 on a PC that's actually worth $99.This PC is nothing more than a marketing tool to advertise Google's web platform. Nothing more, nothing less. Stay away from it. You've been warned.- Chrome OS pilot
