My only comparison for the Dell Streak 5 is my prior device, a Nokia N810 wifi tablet with a 4.1" screen. I used the Nokia for a few years, mostly at work just to get email and surf the web a bit. However, after a couple of years of using the Nokia I was ready to upgrade. The 400mhz processor on the Nokia was just too underpowered, and the OS (OS2008 developed by Nokia) was very limited and dated, and falling by the wayside in favor of newer OS's and more capable devices.So when I got the Streak 5, it was like going from a Ford Focus to a Ferrari. Also, I can use the Streak as my phone too, so I no longer need to carry my Nokia and a separate phone. I would agree with anyone who says the Streak is a bit big for use as a phone, but I have become accustomed to it and don't really notice it any more. It is nice having the 5" screen, and I find the touch screen to be incredibly responsive. Battery life is good too, at least the way I use it [gps & bluetooth off, screen dimmed, phone & wifi on]. I can go at least a couple of days between charges.I really like this Dell Streak and would recommend it to anybody. I got an unlocked model, rooted it, and use it with a sim card from my old phone, which was a T-Mobile pay-as-you-go phone; so I don't have (or pay for) a data plan, I just use free wifi at work, and wherever else I find it.

When i first recieved the phone i was skeptical because i was having charging issues however after a quick replacement by dell with the mfr warranty i was quickly on my way to loving this device more than i could have imagined. It's so customizable and so easy to use. To help out with battery life i downloaded Advanced Task Killer and set it to kill apps every 30 min and i also downloaded JuiceDefender and have it set to agressive. With those two apps i am able to make my streak last 2 days even if i am web browsing and playing games to pass the time.The only real cons i have with this phone is the ability find anything for it locally, the lack of support from at&t, and the quality of the plastic around the screen since it was already scratched from just being in my pocket alone with nothing else... Other than that i can see me actually keeping a phone for more than 3 months now! Beats the iphone hands down in my opinion.
