I upgraded to 4GB of memory and it's really spritely. I was concerned that it would lag under Windows 7, but that hasn't been a problem at all. Flash video at full screen doesn't quite have the performance I hoped for, but it could be a connectivity issue, as when I play back saved videos it performs much better. I had placed a customize-to-order with Lenovo for the dual core version but there were numerous roadblocks in their process before fulfilling the order so I cancelled it and got the pre-built from Amazon. I don't regret it! I have had several ThinkPads and I have loved them all. This is no exception.

I'm a huge fan of thinkpads. I had the t40 which lasted me 4-5 years. I have a s12 netbook that worked fairly well (gave me the blue screen of death once a month, but hey I can work around that!). I literally just bought this laptop, after reading all of the great reviews. It works great! Boots up fast, nice keyboard, everything seems to run fine. And it's not too expensive! There's just one big problem...When playing audio mp3s or flash video, the audio stutters every 1-2 mins. I've read reports from other people having this problem too (it looks like it's pretty common). I listen to tons of podcasts, music and watch online shows. That's why I got this machine. However, when I hear the audio stutter every 1-2 mins, it gets really annoying.Don't buy this machine until you know for certain lenovo fixes this issue. You run the risk of being charge the 15% restocking fee if you try to get a refund. Other people have been burned before because of lenovo's lousy return policy. I know I have.

The Good1) Outstanding build quality2) Amazing keyboard3) Wonderfully sharp display - matte finish! Thank you4) Acceptable performance for an ultra-portable. You can run multiple application with no problem.5) It isn't a netbook - you are running full blown windows 7 and can actually get real work done.There really isn't anything "bad" to say. The only disappointment is battery life. 5-6 hours is what I am getting with heavy use. If they could have gotten this to 8 hours it would have been perfect. If you need an ultra-portable machine don't delay get this machine you will not be sorry.
