Customer Rating Great laptop (except for the webcam), 2011-12-03

Really happy with the overall purchase. Good performance, pretty quick boot up, not excessive bloat ware. The audio is excellent for a laptop, pretty decent graphics performance.Cons: Gave it a 4 star since I'm really not happy with the webcam (the picture is not too clear and is very shaky). Also, the black outer cover is a fingerprint magnet.

I bought this laptop as a cost effective business related travel companion. Horsepower is fine for standard business application use. The action on the keyboard is nice - the keys are stiff, and typing can be a little loud. There is no backlight on the keyboard, which is annoying when typing in the dark. The screen is functional, but has a massive glare issue - I expect an antiglare screen protector would be a good idea. The laptop itself isn't huge, but definitely isn't what anyone could consider petite. Lenovo also does an ok job at not adding a massive amount of bloatware (compared to Dell - they bloat the heck out of their laptops). My biggest gripe, and the main reason for the two stars, is the mouse pad. Lenovo added a well intentioned slider bar on the mousepad itself, extending the pad by an inch or so horizontally. As a result, I'm constantly accidentally engaging the mousepad, which results in the cursor jumping to the wrong section while typing, or accidentally zooming in when I meant to scroll, etc.. It's amazing how often I find this issue happening - detracts from the entire experience. I will now need to find a separate mouse and disable the pad, which will work fine, but kind of sucks that I need to take this action to use the laptop.

Beware buyer, Lenovo will charge you extra for recovery CDs. Essentially they want you to pay again for the software you already payed for when you purchased the computer.
