I am amazed that of all the folks that have raved about this case in their reviews, not one has mentioned the fact that this is NOT leather. It's outright PU, which is basically a cheap imitation of leather and doesn't last half as long. I'm not even sure why I'm giving it 3 stars, don't really see too many positives except that all the openings are aligned, but that doesn't really deserve kudos, that is to be expected. Shortcomings:1. Material - mentioned this already. Definitely not leather, far from it. False advertising to mislead buyers.2. Fit - Fit around the iPad is fine but the front flap does not completely close, it stays slightly open at all times. A stronger magnet or perhaps another magnet to the left of the flap could have fixed this issue.3. Sleep/wake - This is random at best. The iPad goes into sleep mode at times, at others it doesn't. It appears this is due to the weak magnets that don't kick in unless the case is closed and pressed hard against the screen. Defeats the purpose of having a smart function if you have to keep pressing the cover closed. Might as well press the sleep button on the iPad itself, that would be much easier.4. Stand - the stand is wobbly in the stand position. This is not a deal-breaker for me because I don't use the stand much, but it should stand firm on the stand and not wobble.Overall I think for the price paid, there are far better alternatives that have a better design, functionality, and materials. Would not recommend this product.

This leather, red iPad 2 case is the perfect case. I bought the Apple Smart Cover when I first bought my IPad 2 but didn't like it because it didn't offer any protection whatsoever and it didn't clean up at all so I took it back. I used a slip case until my rooCase came in and my dog knocked my pad out of my hands and it shattered. The replacement iPad 2 came in the same day my rooCase came in. I took it with me to the Apple store. When the Apple guy saw my beautiful leather rooCase AND that it has the MAGNETIC CLOSURE THAT PUTS THE PAD TO SLEEP JUST LIKE THE SMART COVER he kinda freaked out. And especially when he found out that I paid less for it than the Smart Cover.Also, the flap helps keep the sun off the screen when I'm using it at the pool.

We just received this cover for our iPad 2, and are very pleased. It's well made, and covers all the essential access points. Additionally, it is nice to have the magnetized cover and no elastic corners.
